First Day At Work

“wo zhong yu kan dao ni jin lab niao!” this is what my fellow labmate said to me when we walked home just now which literally means, I have finally see you masuk lab (and do work)!

I am glad that I have finally started to do SOMEthing too!!! it’s my *count* fifth month here and I have not really done anything yet other than writing and ordering chemicals seimou!

so yeah, the purpose of this post is to commemorate my first day hard at work! I was superb gancheong. u know, hands on for the very first time ma. and I was superb klutzy too. gotta take this opportunity to thank zini for teaching me how to use a laminar flow, liew for on-ing the Bunsen and teaching me the right way to use a damn pipettor *smack forehead* everybuddy have their first time blue so don’t laugh at me okie. things will surely get better with experience *wink*

labmates used to complain to me that they will experience backache after working at laminar flow one whole day. I don’t have muchy issue with my back, I think my arms dislocated from shoulder though seimou! luckily I can work from home tomorrow and the day after tomorrow nyek.

Hallo :)

hallo welcome to the ol’ new AntzWorLd :)

it’s still the same ant, the author, annant, writing here. i must be berry irritating that i keep changing url :S. antzworlddotnet is officially suspended now. it has been a good two years blogging at the dotnet, you will be remembered T_T it’s dotwordpress for now.

on another note, i have been working berry hard to churn out a manuscript which due by end of this month (three weeks left OMFG). everytime i bump into Bossie, she’ll ask, “how’s it doing?” “i’m still working on it” i replied, with a wry smile :/

journals, Journals and MORE JOURNALS are what gonna keep me company in this first month of the twenty eleven :/. i can’t wait for February wei! ANGPAOSSSS (i’m so broke now and i’m not kidding at all) and valentine’s (gift) *hint hint*

okay, i gotta be a good gal and be back to work now *yawn*. so, i’m ending this first post with a recent snapshot of me!

Two Oh One One

hallo! first post of 2011 at AntzWorLd.net. which is also the last one Sad smile. cos I don’t really blog nowadays, so I don’t see the point of paying for hosting and domain annually. and since I’m no longer active in blogosphere, my earning from nuffnang is getting more and more pathetic Confused smile *wipe tears* hey don’t get me wrong okie, I will still be blogging, this time at AntzWorLd.wordpress.com! remember to change your link okie *beg*

my 2011 so far is GREAT! been surrounded by lotsa lurve Open-mouthed smile and foods Confused smile. of course, few pounds were put on me wtf. tomorrow, I will sure start my healthy diet soooooon Open-mouthed smile. and the only resolution I have for 2011 is to manage my own financial (so that my dream of getting a huge ass canggih camera and an oversea trip will come true instead of just dreaming them on bed!) *determined*

Dinner @ The Ship, Penang

I first saw this ship, was during my visit to the femes Kota Tinggi Pasar Malam, which I think you can just slash it off your must-visit list, seriously. yeah, it does have the length but the quality, meh.

we saw this sign (pretend you see invisible T)  from afar and its unique exterior of the restaurant did managed to catch my attention. this life-size hull of a ship claims to serve the best steak in town. I have always wanted to have a taste of it, its location deter me from doing that.

the boy brought me there for dinner in conjunction of my BigDay Open-mouthed smile.

if you squint your eyes, you can see that the crews are clad in maritime  uniforms.

apparently they have branches in KL too Smile

waited patiently for our food to be served. tick-tock tick-tock.

the cutlery and the logo.

coconut to quench our thirsts.

I know I know, coconut is a not-so-perfect complement to western food. but I have a sudden craving for it…it’s my BigDay remember? so I can have whatever I want, I know it’s weird though.

we were served bread first. I actually find their bread berry puffy and soft and it’s good even without the salty butter.

Appetizer which consists of shrimps + salad + dressing = we were appetized after being zested up by the lemon Open-mouthed smile

then Russian Borscht was being served *insert an imaginary picha of it* or you can click here to look at a lot of it hehe. I don’t remember mine was that reddish though

my main – Grilled Air Flown Fresh Salmon Steak served with mini salads and French fries

I tend to order fish (grilled salmon or fish and chips) whenever I dine in western restaurant. u can see that I am not so adventurous when it comes to food Sad smile. the whitish cube atop is parsley butter which I initially thought is cheesie =.=. this was just okay, or mediocre, nothing muchy to shout about.

his main – Charboiled Rib Eye Steak served with vegetables, corn on cob and baked potato

he wanted it half rare and it was soooo tender, juicy and succulent! no wonder it’s one of the chef’s recommendation la…

cheat one ship’s wheel

I tried to spin it and of course it didn’t moved at all cos it’s roped. damn paiseh the kiddoes must be laughing hard at me Confused smile

all in all, it’s a place you have to try it out when you are in Penang. it however reminds me of cruise haha

business hour.

Dinner @ New Lane Hawkers, Penang

every day, 5-6pm you will find rows of hawker stalls along the New Lane street, off Macalister Street, which is diagonally opposite of Sunway Hotel. I had dinner there twice when HB’s in town for my BIGDAY Open-mouthed smile

Lao Hao Zui, aka nutmeg juice

when I first heard my friend ordered it in a coffeeshop, I was like wtf? lao hao sui? who on earth wanna drink people’s saliva huh! wtf wtf. only I knew that it’s actually nutmeg juice. haih failed max la my hokkien. Sad smile the first word I learnt is actually, kiam ge, which literally means cut price Open-mouthed smile, pretty handy when shopping at pasar malam wtf

Hokkien Mee

must try in Penang! I find this so so nia. it’s a tad bland for my liking, I prefer it to be a lil’ more spicier.

Asam Laksa

another must try when you are in Penang. this *point up* ain’t my thing though cos of the coriander leaves/parsley/green green thing. chewing them give me shiver down my spine, and im not kidding! I would appreciate it more if they take away the green.

Char Koey Teow

the boy lurves it muchy! I lurve it too as it’s not too oily. there’s few huge prawns on the side, no wonder it’s cost at RM5.50, pricier than KL I think?

Loh Bak

it comprises of motley fried stuffs, my favourite!

O Chien

the o are all berry fat and succulent <3. but I find this too gluey/starchy, berry different from KL’s.

Hokkien Loh

it’s actually mixture of Loh Mee and Hokkien Mee Smile. roomie introduced this to me and I have never looked back since then. it’s tastier than Hokkien Mee, IMO.

Curry Mee

the minute I saw the coagulated piggie blood, I almost freezed. damn. the boy forgot I detest innards. and I don’t usually take cockles when I eat out.

Char Koey Kak

too charred for my liking. I rated this the laoya-est among the above Sad smile. I miss Malacca’s. neh the one at Ujong Pasir one Open-mouthed smile

Dumplings

we lurve this. the one shown above is without fillings inside one. the one at the back is dumplings in soya bean soup. it had two huge balls with sesame seeds paste and peanut in it respectively. so yummo that we just had to have it again the next evening Smile.

DISCLAIMER: all the food above are nommed by two persons in two nights. we are no ghouls to nom them all in one go okie!

PBIM 2010

please ignore the ugly couch behind.

Yay I did it. 10km in less than 1.5hour, the estimated time, in rain. And I enjoyed the sunrise while running (read: walking). Its reflection on the sea in flaming gold is hmmmm… Wish I brought my iBaby with me so that u could savor the beautiful snapshot here. I’m sorry, will definitely remember to bring it next time. I spent a not so good 30mins looking for my friends! =.= u know, the wet shoes with wet socks. yuck!

Next year, I will be back as a half-marathoner! ;) anyone wanna join me ar! hehe
